Epic Mickey 2 Developer Diary Details Co-Op, Other Changes

Epic Mickey was a solid platformer for the Wii, but there were certainly a vast number of changes that could have been made to the formula in order to improve it. Warren Spector and his team working with Disney seem well aware of this fact in the new developer diary that they released this morning, which we have embedded for your convenience below. Much is made of perhaps the second game's biggest addition, co-op mode. At any time during the game, a second player will be able to pick up a controller and join in your game as Oswald the bunny. Oswald will have a completely different move set than Mickey, and the two characters have been designed to complement each other in the game's numerous worlds.

Speaking of which, we'll also get to see a few of the game's new levels in the trailer, as well as get a taste of the new voices for some of the cast. It's not just new stuff that's being added in, though. The team seems well aware of the fact that the original Epic Mickey had its faults. The camera, someting that Spector adamently defended shortly after the game was released to critics, is acknowledged here as being shabby. That said, the team has made "hundreds of changes" to it since then and should hopefully achieve better results this time around.

Check out the trailer below, and look for Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two in stores this October.
