Sleeping Dogs Combat Trailer Escalates Quickly

Square-Enix has released a new trailer for their open-world thriller Sleeping Dogs focusing on the combat. Although the game looks to take much of its influence from classic kung-fu movies, protagonist Wei Shen's moves quickly take a turn for the, erm, unconventional. I'm pretty sure I've never seen Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan use a table saw quite like that.
If you haven't been keeping up with Sleeping Dogs, this announcement may seem to be coming out of left field. The game should look familiar, though. At one point it was in development for Activision under the name True Crime: Hong Kong. But when Activision decided to cut funding for the project, the publisher shopped the mostly-finished game around so as not to waste the time of the developers. Square-Enix announced that they had picked the game up soon after. A unique and gritty thriller, Sleeping Dogs follows undercover cop and grisly murder connoisseur Wei Shen through Hong Kong's underground in search of justice.
Sleeping Dogs will awaken later this year.
