watch the fight in sims medieval ..?

During the fur quest with the chinchillas, im up to the part where i have to watch the fight, i've watched it multiple times before i had to go to sleep and eat and when i went back he was still at it. I've tried talking to him but he just jumps back in when the chat is over. Can someone please help ? I dont know what to do..

I have had this exact same problem, and the only way I could fix it was to quit the quest. The same quest will come up a little while later again, but this is the only way I could find.
