dungeon siege "lost in the swamp" bug?

I'm also having a problem with this bug.  You reach the lost soldiers after you obtain the amulet, but the soldiers just stand there and do nothing.  One help me fight a few of the bugs but once they were taken care of they just stand there.  Two more soldiers up top also do nothing.  You can't interact with them at all and the NPC in the village continues to say the 2nd party is still missing.

Just finish the main quest you will get a amulet that will make the root withdraw...
