If you want glowing mushrooms you go down to the third layer underground. A good picture of what the third layer looks like is found in this guide: http://nerd-age.com/?p=175 If you dig to the side in the third layer you should eventually find glowing mushrooms. The seeds for glowing mushrooms are found as a random drop from the mushrooms. You can plant the seeds in mud underground.
