In a move that's becoming all too popular in the film and gaming industries, Activision has just announced the date of an announcement regarding the next Call of Duty game. No, you didn't read that wrong. Activision today announced that they intend to formally announce and reveal the next chapter in the ongoing and incredibly popular Call of Duty franchise on May 1st during the NBA playoffs on TNT.
This comes around a full month earlier than Activision tends to make announcements regarding the franchise, with announcements for past games like Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops coming around June in their respective years. Although this will mark the first official word from the company on the next game in the series, rumors have been swirling ever since Modern Warfare 3 was released to massive sales and critical acclaim. Word on the internet pegs the next game in the series as Black Ops 2, which would make sense given that the original game broke numerous sales records upon its release.
Whatever the next chapter in the Call of Duty series is, you can be sure that we'll be covering it come May 1st, so stay tuned to GameShampoo for the latest.
