Can you get to see the cake in portal without cheats?

I think you run into it behind some shelves in the campaign. Other than that, beating the game shows the cake on the title screen.

If you finish the game, you get a glimpse of the cake in the ending cinematic. I think you see it after the song, but I am not remebering too well.

You can see the cake in the ending cutscene, but actually "seeing it" as in being on it, jumping into it, shooting portals at it, can only be done without cheats by the ways of what we call "ninja skill". This requires insane skill with the portal gun, and also a whole lot of luck.

In the final scene there is a view of the cake next to the companion cube, surrounded by personality orbs. Alternatively, whilst you may consider it a "cheat", you can access the object in Garry's Mod.
