It depends on your current level because you gain 1 xp per step your pokemon takes.

It depends on what level your pokemon is. It receives 1 XP each step you take.

For every step you take, your pokemon will gain one EXP point, This will be faster if you're on a bike since you're moving faster and thus gain points faster.
