There are 8 gyms.

 

1st: Fire/Grass/Water - The type that is strong against your start

2nd: Normal

3rd: Bug

4th: Electric

5th: Ground

6th: Flying

7th: Ice

8th: Dragon

There are only 8 gyms in Black and White.

In every traditional Pokemon game there has been 8 Gyms. None of that has changed in Black and White.
