Some people on the Steam forums have claimed to have beaten Portal 2 in 4-5 hours, but that involves rushing through the puzzles and dialogue so I would not recommend playing that fast. Most people I know beat the game in 8-10 hours.

A friend of mine compelted the single player story in around 6 hours.

You can probably squeeze close to 10 if you spend a lot of time on the puzzles.

yeah, i heard the single player is pretty short, around 5-10 hours.  It really depends how you like to play.  When i play single player games, i usually do random stuff like jump around, try to find glitches etc, so i'll probably take longer than someone who sticks to the plot.

Since it is a bit open-ended, it depends on your playing skill, ability to grasp the situation, as well as... how focused you are on the task. Futzing around can, supposedly, increase play time past the average 8 hours I have heard.

i have seen a semi pro take 6 hours total but i think a pro could probably do it in about 5 hours roughly. then after a little bit of playing probably even less.

No matter the player, the game should take between 5 and 10hrs. Definitey an upgrade from Portal 1.

As it has already been said, the game is roughly 4-6 hours for singleplayer and then another 4-6 hours for co-op mode, as both of the scenarios are different games with different puzzles.

However, I would take that with a grain of salt. For instance, the first game was considered ~2-3 hours but there were plenty of people who beat it in much less time. It solely depends on how fast you solve the puzzles and how much you explore/take in the scenery.

I would stick with ~5 hours though, that seems to be the general concensus.
