Unfortunately no. The Xbox 360 does not have "Valve Steamworks" Support, meaning that in addition to not having your steam friends list, or cross plattform play, you will also not get a "Multiplattform" version of Portal 2(ie. Portal 2 for all Steam plattforms, PC, Mac, PS3).

This is because Microsoft Xbox 360 plattform is not "open" enough to give Valve the amount of freedom they need to make this happen.

Note, the PS3 version does not actually come with a "Free" copy of Portal 2 for PC (eg. that you can gift to another person), but rather that when you link your Playstation.net and Steam accounts, Portal 2 will be available on Steam.  (So unless you want to link your PS3 with someone else's steam account, you will not be able to share this version with a friend)

Just for completeness, if you purchase the PC version (or Mac) on Steam, it does not come with a "free copy" of the PS3 version.

Hope that helps :)

No , valve only did this with the PS3 version since they have a good relationship with Sony. Maybe in near future that Xbox will get steam functions like the PS3 has now.

No. This is because Valve has an exclusive deal with sony to provide steamworks on the ps3. Sorry.

No, the XBox 360 version of Portal 2 doesn't come with a free PC copy.

This only comes with the PS3 copy, along with cloud based storage and exclusive in game Steam features.

nope. and steamworks will never happen because xbox live is a terribly locked down service. they won't even let valve put out free updates.

No, only the PS3 is giving away Portal 2 on the PC right now, so if you have to decide wheter you want it on the PC or on the X-box.

I wish. But as was said below, Xbox 360 isn't open enough to allow Steam to run. I hope that in the future this will change...

As many said repeatedly, It's a deal with Valve and PS3 to promote this game aswell as the sale in this console. Only PS3 gets the steam code, which is not really an independent steam key you can giveaway to anyone else. You have to first play it on PS3 and then link PSN with Steam to use the code. Buying a Xbox 360 title for this game is pointless, unless you have more friends having 360s for co-op. Good luck.

Microsoft does not wish to partner with Steam for cross platform compatibility probably because both distributes games digitally.....

No, it doens't. If you buy it for xbox that's it. You may buy it for ps3 (if you have it of course) and you'll get it on the pc for free since you "share" it via steamworks (you bind it to your steam account). However, if your intention was to gift it to a friend, I'm afraid it's not possible.

It only works with the PS3 version.  Valve has stated that the PS3 will be the best console version according to Gabe Newell.

No because only the PS3 version is connected to steam. So they get the PC version as an extra

No it doesn't. Unlike how the ps3 allwos you to link your ps3 account with your steam account the 360 does not have that support

No. Portal 2 for Xbox 360 doesnt gives away any free PC / Mac versions because Valve isnt involved with Microsoft.

No, that's only for the PS3 version. Don't feel bad though; those who bought the PS3 version in order to play on the PC can't even do that right now, since they have to register the game on the Playstation Network (which is currently down)

The xbox 360 version doesn't come with pc free copy because xbox live is by microsoft
