is ati 6850 a decent graphics card to run rift?

It's more than what you call a "decent" card, not only for Rift, but also for all the current gen games (including MMO's). I'd recommend it if you're not playing on resolution above 24".

6850 is more than enough to run ANY current games as long as you are not using dual monitors.

Of course, 6850 will run most games at max settings! It's one of the best card available on the market!

Yes it would be a great graphics card, keep in mind it requires a 500 Watt power supply to run properly. I think most computers today have at least a 500 watt PSU, but you might want to check it out before you buy it.

Any ATi card in the 6000's will run most games nowadays on high or maximum settings granted you have a high enough power source so the card itself doesn't begin to overheat. This card should be great to run Rift as long as your power source can sustain it.

  • Yes, however a nVidia GTS 250 would be a bit better choice if you are a hardcore gamer because it offers more overclocking possibilities, with a lower risk.

6850 will run Rift extremely well.

I have a much weaker card (4850) and it runs Rift very well.
