on dragon age 2 what good weapons can you buy in Kirkwall?

Some of the best weapons in the game can be purchased from the Black Emporium. Plenty of the shops have decent weapons for little upgrades here and there, also, but the Black Emporium has the best. It is the most expensive too, though.

I've only played as mage, but here's what I've found so far:

If you go to the market in Hightown and talk to the stereotypically French vendor (can't remember his name) you can buy some great staffs that tend to match your level/point in the game. Also, you can buy some in the gallows.

Also, on the Wounded Coast there is a guy hanging out by one of the caves who will sell you incredibly pricy items that rock.
