Yes, the original version of WoW does not require any expansions. They have changed the game though so vanilla WoW is still different from when they originally finished WoW with new locations, items, and bosses.

Yes, however you will be limited to the original areas and instances as well as a level cap of 60.

yes , you can but you can visit area on the expansions, you can use the races in the expansions (e.g. death knight) and you can't get past level 60 which is a requirement for some weapons, quests, etc

Sometimes as you level a character through level 60 you'll see players that are still playing the original game in Alterac Valley in their crazy old epics. Haha! Have to respect them.
