how do you use long jump module in half life?

In the HL menu screen, you can select TRAINING. Do that, there's a
specific 'course' for learning the LJ module.

If you wanna make a hard jump, start running towards the edge. When you get near, quickly press ctrl, and immediately after you release it, press space. It's difficult to describe it with words, you should practice it. It was hard for me back then as well.

Quickly press you crouch key before you completely crouch jump while moving forward.

When you get the Long Jump Module either in Training mode or in Head to Head match you will have to press space 2 times and it will make long jump or x button 2 times if you have it on playstation 2.
