co-op will be certainly amazing, and yes, the extras like gel were inspired by the Digipen game "Tag", which is free and allows you to spray paint around to jump, slide etc...

I am actually most interested in the story of the single player with GLADoS.  The story of portal one was surprisingly fun to play and learn about.

I wonder how the co-op works. If it is something like L4D it will be great.

Portal 2 has a new longer story featuring more characters, more puzzles, and new features such as panels, gels, and other things that will add to the puzzle element. Portal 2 also has a co-op mode where there can be up to four portals. Co-op mode also has a new story.

Well, of course they are to different games to begin with, but I suppose you already know that :P

Portal 2 implements new game mechanics. In portal 1 you only had the portal gun, in portal 2 it's the same, but different types of "paint" have been added, just as a blue one that makes you bounce when you touch the surface and a red one that makes you go extremely fast. There is also co-op for two players, which follows a different part of the story than it's single player counter part (in single player you play as chell and in co-op as two robots)

The first game is where you first wake up and try to escape, the second is the result of that 100 years later.

Portal 2 is jsut portal one but with added gameplay mechanics, new content, more levels, more story, new characters, and so much more. Basically portal 2 is the example of a good sequel - better than its prequel :)

Portal 2 has many more features including Co-op mode, propulsion and repulsion gel, Pneumatic Diversity Vents, Excursion Tunnels, etc. Portal 2 also continues the story of Portal 1, taking place hundreds of years after the first game.

Portal 2 has a more accurate Portal Device and has a new bigger pack of puzzles, test chambers and levels to keep the fun up so you wont get bored. Also the story line that ended in Portal 1 will continue in Portal 2 giving you a watch back in what happened before the whole accident. And offcourse the environment and the new elements that are being introduced give you a bigger solution to the Exit of each level. Also a new feature has been introduced what is the new Co-Op in Portal 2 which gives you the oppertunity to play together with your friends that also own the game to have some extra levels that you can solve with your friends or other people in the Steam community.

The game is so much more polished and amazing in comparison of the first game. And yes it is challenging but at the same time does not make you seem like it is impossible.
