Paladins are very good tanks in WoW. They are in fact the best in most situations, and depending on talent build.

However, it is a very difficult class to play since it requires so much attention to everything. If you want to get into it, I would recomend you sit down and read through most of the sticky posts in these two forums:

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/1033926/

and

http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/1012668/

They contain a myriad of information and helpful tips for beginners, as well as advanced tactics for veterans.

Always keep Righteous Fury up. Use Devotion Aura. Stack Stamina, Expertise, Hit, Parry, Dodge and then get some Strength to ensure you can generate enough threat.

Use Seal of Righteous depending on the situation.

Always use your Avenger's Shield, Consecreate and Excorcism when available.

Paladins make great tanks.

Just a few things:

  • Make sure to put the majority of your TPs into the Protection Tree
  • NEVER bubble - loses all your agro
  • Use righteous fury
  • Stack Stamina, Int and maybe a bit of Agility and Strength

    Hope that helps =]

Although you probably don't need help anymore, there is a good website that has all the information you'll need and that's www.elitistjerks.com. Just find the forum for your class and read the general thread on your spec, keep in mind this is for PvE.

As a Paladin, you'll want to rotate your Crusader Strike (or WG for AoE pulls) and SoTR for your main threat / damage ability. After that, it's all about keeping up your judgement for mana regen, holy wrath for aoe pulls, consc for aoe pulls or even boss fights if you're not struggling on mana and Avenger's shield.

Usually you use Seal of Truth for the stacking damage (and if you glyph it, you get an extra 10 expertise). Your main stats are Stamina, Expertise (to cap so ~26), Hit (to cap) then Mastery, Parry, Dodge.

You want to have around ~103% avoidance including block/parry and dodge. And remember, Dodge/Parry have the same diminishing returns, so you never want to stack one over the other. Ideally, you want to have them around the same since you get less % for each additional point.
