no it is not impossible. you cant punch a bedrock until it breaks but notch has actually said that bedrock does have a breaking point. but you would need an explosion that would be so big that the game would instantly crash. so it is possible while at the same time it isnt cause it would cause the game to crash.

That is wrong. You cannot break bedrock since it's hardness is set to -1.0F.
