It comes down to what play style you like. I love Zangief because his grabs are devestating, but he's definitely more difficult to play.

Ryu is probably the best all-around character, though.

I've always been a fan of Ryu since the first SF.

So I'm biased towards him.

Always depends on your playstyle. However Sagat has consistently been God Tier in most SFs.

I like Wesker, he's really good at fighting and stuff, but the main thing is he has style. I dig his coat and glasses.

It all depends on your playing.I think Ryu is the best IMO.

It's all based on opinion and play style. There is no way to simply pick a character who you saw someone play well with and expect to play just as well. You need to practice.
