given the choice I would go with the pc version, it looks better, has smoother gameplay, and you get access to mods

It comes down to personal preference, however with the more action oriented style of Dragon Age 2, I would say the console counterparts. The Mass Effect style decision wheel also feels much more natural for a joystick than it does a mouse.

There are also plans to include a checkbox option to allow auto-attack (much like Dragon Age Origins), giving you more versatility options wise, where the PC is only restricted to auto-attacking.

Having tried both the demos, it felt like this game was designed with the console in mind.

If you are worried solely about using a controller, don't be. You can use a 360 wireless controller on PC. That negates the whole "I don't want to play with a mouse" issue.

What you are left with is a cheaper game with superior graphics and smoother gameplay and reduced load times. PC is the way to go.

It is much, much better on the PC. You get many more options with camera control and a lot more hot keys that are much more easily accesible. Playing with the controller however is not supported contrary to what avwjase said. Because of how the PC version is set-up it will not work with the 360 controller unlike the first one. I have tried, but the PC version does have better graphics as well. Overall remember that Dragon Age is Baldur's Gate's successor. In it's heart it's a PC rpg and it definitely shows through in DA2.
