I found this:

PLEASE USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN INSTALLING THE GAME IF PURCHASED WITH DIRECT2DRIVE TO ENSURE YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A NO DISC INSERTED ERROR

1. Please if possible download using the D2D Download Manager. It installs the game for you.

2. If you use browser download: DO NOT open the folders in the zip file.

3. Double click on Dirt3_ddsetup and your game will install.

Disable Anti-Virus, a file in the game directory called paul.dll wrongly sets off anti virus as a trojan horse and that is the problem! When i would try the Dirt3.exe, AVG would come up with an infection in paul.dll and i'd get the "No disc inserted" error! I disabled AVG (actually i uninstalled it because you cant disable) and it worked instantly! Try that, worked for me. This also happens with The Witcher 2!! seems paul.dll is a new file devs are using!!
