In Dragon Age 2 how do I save Carver from the Plague?

at the end of act 1 in deep roads expedition quest Carver gets infected by the plague is there a way to prevent that?

When you go into the deep roads you must take Anders with you or the sibling you take will die. If you do not take a sibling with you Carver will join the Templars. If you are a mage you will have your sister and she will be turned into the circle.

The technical answer is 'yes', because you can. However, doing so would require you to be a Mage, which means your sister will die instead.

Answer 2

Bring Anders with you. He will turn Carver/(forgot sisters name) into a Grey Warden. They are the only ones who survive the plague.
