This answer gets a thumbs down as it is not true. You will definitely not be able to run games at their highest performance, but you can run them either at low to medium settings. This depends on your min/max memory allocation.  I have an Intel HD Grpahics max is 1.7GB. If you have Windows 7 it will allocate the memory needed to run the program. Again it will not be the greatest performance, but good enough.

If you are talking about Intel HD Graphics 3000 (the one integrated in Sandy Bridge CPUs) then the answer is yes. Here's a sample video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pThBsYMLmFE

Intel HD Graphics 3000 is the most powerful integrated video card ever released by Intel. It is comparable to low end discrete cards and can to play old games (i.e. 2-3 years old on medium to high) and most of the new games on low.
