i press PLAY

it says

preparing to launch call of duty modern warfare 3

then it says

this game is unavailable please try again later

Dear Steam Users and Steam Forum Users:

Our Steam forums were defaced on the evening of Sunday, November 6. We began investigating and found that the intrusion goes beyond the Steam forums.

We learned that intruders obtained access to a Steam database in addition to the forums. This database contained information including user names, hashed and salted passwords, game purchases, email addresses, billing addresses and encrypted credit card information. We do not have evidence that encrypted credit card numbers or personally identifying information were taken by the intruders, or that the protection on credit card numbers or passwords was cracked. We are still investigating.

We don’t have evidence of credit card misuse at this time. Nonetheless you should watch your credit card activity and statements closely.

While we only know of a few forum accounts that have been compromised, all forum users will be required to change their passwords the next time they login. If you have used your Steam forum password on other accounts you should change those passwords as well.

We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords). However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to change that as well, especially if it is the same as your Steam forum account password.

We will reopen the forums as soon as we can.

I am truly sorry this happened, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

I cannot get into my MW3 game to play. I understand the security has been compromised. However it has been two weeks and this is my fifth email and I have gotten now response from STEAM or Activision . I have been a loyal customer since COD first launched. Your SILENCE is defining . Again PLEASE contact me!!!!!

try closing steam and then launch steam and try again

how do you close and launch a stream what is it . cheers
click on the "X" on your steam client
then launch it again from desktop or windows menu
im playing it on ps3?
its not working

Go into the all games section in steam

right click on MW3 multiplayer in the left screen

hit properties

click local files

then hit verify cache files integrity.

That should do it

Ok here a answer that will 100% work!, Right click your MW3 Click Properties Then click Local Files Then click VERIFY INTEGRITY  ! Then do for your Single Player & Multiplayer,  it should take around 8 minutes all together. then try launching game.

Go to Steam, search Modern Warfare 3, click it, enter your birth(suppose to be older than 18 years old), scroll down, click "PLAY NOW" if you really bought it lol

Go into the all games section in steam

right click on MW3 in the left screen NOT the multiplayer

hit properties

click local files

then hit verify integrity of game cache....

Good to go!

I have tried to "Verify intergrity of game Cashe" on both single and multiplayer and have had no luck.. i still get the "Currently Unavailable" error when i try to play multiplayer and starting to get burned out on survival mode... Help me please!!!
