how do i know if skyrim is preloaded on my steam?

how can i tell if the skyrim preload happened?

you know these boxes that popup on exiting a game, with offers, new releases etc

you should get one of those

or llok at skyrim in your library, the what would usually be the play or install button will say preload once you can preload

it wont auto preload for you, and steam limits the number of preloads at a time so you might still not manage to start it before release :(

while it is preloading you should get another box from steam marking its progress
