Ask YOUR question:

Are there plans a portable video game system to support netflix?

Does anyone know if any of the portable systems, like the 3DS or Sony's elusive NGP to support netflix? I like the ipad and all, but a portable gaming device is always more my style

Currently there haven't been any announcments for handheld video game console suppot for netflix, however I wouldn't be suprised to see one shortly.

Especially after the release of the 3DS. Considering both Sony and Nintendo support netflix on the Wii and PS3, I'd guess that the 3DS and PSP / NGP would be the first to get it.

Despite the fact that the NGP hasn't officially been named yet, it does seem like the prime candidate, especially since Sony pushes their handhelds as portable entertainment systems instead of straight video game portable consoles.

Yes Nintendo discussed in a press release back in March that Netflix will be available for the Nintendo 3DS this summer, it will cost around $7.99 a month and work similarly to how the Wii handles Netflix streaming.

For more information see this article – http://www.crunchgear.com/2011/03/02/nintendo-3ds-to-get-netflix-streaming-and-free-att-wifi-by-this-summer/

The 3DS will get Netflix this summer, while the NGP may or may not have Netflix with it when it releases.

I don't know, but I think 3DS can support it.
