Which game is better SW: Knights of the Old Republic 1 or SW: Knights of the Old Republic 2?

Based purely on ratings, KOTOR I is the better game. If this is an issue of which one to buy though, there's no reason to get just one of them since they're both good games that are very cheap at this point.

I heard that the second one was better (from friends who said the story and gameplay were better than the first and it was overall more fun).

I like more SW: Knights of the Old Republic 1, because the scenes and the story are more interesting. SW Knights of the Old Republic 2 is also nice and darker ( story ), but I prefer SW: Knights of the Old Republic 1.

KOTOR 1 is far and away the better game. However, KOTOR 2 isn't bad... just not as good as the original.

Number 1 is so the better game, the second one just wasnt up to the first ones standards.

SW: KOTOR 1 Is better as far as I'm concerned. The story is just better. One thing I will say is if you are getting these for windows, know in advance that there are some compatability issues with modern OS's. There are fixes on the internet to help alleviate some of the problems, but I just figured I would let you know.

Number 2 was my personal favorite, it just seemed to have a better storyline and also more fun  to play.
