Ask YOUR question:

Magicka crash help?

+12 votes
Whenever i open Magicka via Steam, it goes to a black screen as if just starting to launch it, but then crashes back to my desktop before any developer insignias or menus load. I have tried reinstalling, but have had no results. I bought the game and the wizard DLC and would really like some help fixing this problem. Thanks in advance!

First things first, make sure you have all essential drivers and the likes including runtimes and the latest DirectX runtime, as well as your video card's drivers. Check for conspicious performance, also rebooting might help, as well as verifying game cache via Steam.

Try updating Direct X using the update that came with Magicka, that usually solves the problem for most games on steam

Check to see if your graphic card is supported. Then update all your drivers.
