Most likely. Check your specs against the minimum specs of the game:

OS: Windows 7 / Vista / XP
Processor: 3.0 GHz P4, Dual Core 2.0 (or higher) or AMD64X2 (or higher)
Memory: 1GB XP / 2GB Vista
Hard Disk Space: At least 7.6 GB of Space
Video: Video card must be 128 MB or more and should be a DirectX 9-compatible with support for Pixel Shader 2.0b (ATI Radeon X800 or higher / NVIDIA GeForce 7600 or higher / Intel HD Graphics 2000 or higher).
Audio: DirectX 9.0c compatible

OS: MAC OS X 10.6.6 or higher
Processor: Intel Core Duo Processor (2GHz or better)
Memory: 2GB
Hard Disk Space: At least 7.6 GB of Space
Video: ATI Radeon 2400 or higher / NVIDIA 8600M or higher

Most likely a laptop would not be able to run such a powerful game like Portal 2.

A MacBook though would be able to run Portal 2 because of its simple layout and no further background features.

As long as your laptop reaches the minimum requirements for Portal2, you should be able to play portal on it.

Yes, if it is fast enough, you need about 2 gigs of ram to play it well.

It's subjective. It depends on how good your graphic card is in your laptop.

But Valve games are easy on the system so I say your chances are good.

Sure, if your laptop has the correct specifications. Computer are not limited by whether they are laptops or desktops, only by their parts and confiugrations. Just make sure you check that your laptop is powerful enough to run portal 2. Here are the minimum requirements:

Sure, as long as it has the required hardware/software.

It depends on the laptop and its specs. If it meets the recommended requirements, then it should be fine. If it doesn't, like for example if it has an integrated graphics card, then you might not be so lucky.

Yes, granted that your laptop is good enough to run it. if you are unsure of whether your laptop's specs are not high enough just go here and check to see if your computer meets those requirements. http://store.steampowered.com/app/620/
