The PC and PS3 version are cross-platform with each other, but the 360 version only plays with the 360 version.

So yes, you will be able to play with your friends as long as they play on PC or PS3!

No, unfortunately. But a PS3 portal owner gets a free PC copy so you would be able to play with them on PC.

Only the PS3 and PC are cross-platform with each other.

Its only cross platform for PC and PS3, since PS3 supports steam services now.

Portal 2 is somewhat cross platform. You can play with others on the PC/Mac if you are playing on the PS3 and vice versa. If you are playing on the Xbox 360 you can only play with peolpe who are on tthe Xbox 360.

Valve decided they hate Microsoft and only made it cross-platform for PS3 and PC/Mac.

Actually, Microsoft wouldn't allow cross platform because of their strict online policies.
