If you remember the account name and password, you should be able to start the subscription again, and find them.

If you're looking for just equipment / stats, then you should be able to go to http://us.battle.net/wow/en/ and search for the names in the "Search armory, forums, and more ...' box in the upper right.

I'm not sure if Blizzard only returns active characters or not.

The only other way to 'find' old WoW characters, that I know of, is to reactivate your account and login to your account. They should still be intact.

what you're asking for is a bit vague, but if you're interested in character info for past characters you can sometimes find information via this link : http://www.warcraftrealms.com/charhistory.php

mainly it displays guild history, but it still contains some characters which are unavailable to view on the wowarmory due to lack of activity.

You might need to get your old account information from customer services, you could give them your name and email and try to get it back.

you should be able to find your characters when you renew your subscription because your characters won't be deleted, it'll only be frozen until your renew your subscription
