When does portal 3 come out?

Portal 2 just came out about 4 years after portal 1 so im gonna guess 2013. Don't bring your hopes up, VALVe has got

 

DoTA2 (in progress)

CS2 (We don't know)

TF3 (We don't know)

-third surprise hasn't even been announced yet- (the 3 suprises were dota 2, portal 2 and the 3rd hasnt been announced)

The 3 surprises that Gabe was talking about were:
-The Mannconomy Update for TF2
-Valve developing DOTA 2
-Steamworks coming to the PS3

Another CS or HL2 episode would be the most likely after DOTA. I don't see why they would make a Team Fortress 3. It would only fragment the community.

there is currently no information of valve doing a follow up to portal 2, but if they do it's gonna be a while.

Valve is known for being notoriously slow when releasing sequels to games, there is 4 years between the release of Portal one and Portal 2 which would put Portal 3 to be released sometime in 2015.

Portal 1 = October 9, 2007

Portal 2 = April 19, 2011

You are going to have to wait a while for Portal 3 to come out. I'm saying atleast 3 years. There are a long line of games ahead of Portal 3 right now, so I'm sure it' not Valves top priority. Also Portal 2 JUST came out, what's the rush?

I can understand how you feel after playing Portal 2. The same i felt when i completed Portal 1 some years ago. The wait is completely worth it. Portal 3 should be up in a couple of years. I predict 2014. Now the main expectation has gotta be with Half-life 3. :)

Most likely never, but probably a long long time. We still have DOTA 2 coming up, and a possible Counter-Strike 2, and of course the ever long awaited Episode 3 which hopefully is worth the weight. And Gabe Newell probably just delayed it again after that pun.

I'm not sure if theyre going to continue the storyline if they do decide to make a Portal 3, but if they do, probably in about 2-3 years.

LOL hilarious question. With Valve's track record though, it might take a while! I'm surprised Portal 2 was released whereas Half-Life fans are still waiting for Episode 3!

well since it took 5 years to make portal and 4 years to make portal 2.....i would say it would come out  in 2014
