dragon age 2 beating rock monster faq?

is it even possible to beat that rock monster in dragon age 2? he kills my whole party before i can even do a little dmg to him

Use the pillars. When he curls up, run behind one. After the blast, he'll be vulnerable to attack for a bit. Rinse. Repeat.

This is a difficult, lengthy fight that requires you to tactically control your party.

The first thing you should do upon entering the fight is tell your party to Hold, preventing them from moving on their own.

Then, you should direct your party to occupy the four corners of the room, by the pillars.

Use your tank to grab the attention of the boss and drag it into a seperate corner away from your party. The idea here, is to keep the boss as far away from the rest of the party.

Just take this fight slowly, and you'll have no trouble.

My group was made up of 2 mages, 1 archer, and 1 tank. I had the mages and the archer cluttered into one corner, and the tank and boss cluttered into another on the opposite side of the map.

When the boss starts rolling, use the "move to" direct your party to scatter.

And when he goes into the center of the room, direct your group into the closest corner.

There is alot of micromanaging going on, but again.. Just go slow and steady!
