You will have a couple seconds to execute a fatality upon defeating an opponent. The combos for fatalities are no harder than they have been in past games. Most are limited to about only 4 or 5 button presses.

Fatalities in Mortal Kombat (9) feel much simpler to input, especially considering that you are informed through the command menu about the distance you should stand from your opponent.

One trick learned by most people who played the earlier Mortal Kombat games, is that holding down the Block button while inputting the directional button commands is very helpful.

Mortal Kombat (9) also comes with a fatality trainer that physically shows you where to stand, and then fatality command as well as your own button inputs. This helps you to identify what you're doing wrong. All in all, this game will be the easiest in terms of fatality button inputs.

they're actually pretty easy. most of them consist of four directions and one button press. for instance, some require you to be a certain distance though(close/sweeping distance/jumping distance). for example, to do kano's fatality eat your heart out you would hit down down forward back then the b button.

The normal ones are easy but the special stage fatalities are very hard

Hard is subjective in fighting games.

It relies on your skills with combos and whether you have a fight stick or not.

With a good flight stick, even hard combos can be pulled off much easier compared to a controller.

As shown in the Mortal Kombat demo, you usually have to mash 4-5 buttons in rapid succesion, while standing at the right distance (depends on the character, some you might have to be up close, for others you might have to stand far away). I believe you have an approximate of 5-6 seconds to execute the fatality you chose (there will be at least 2 fatality for each character)

However, if performing a fatality isn't your thing then don't worry, the guys at Netherealm Studio have included a fatality training game, where they will thoroughly instruct you on how to perform each fatality.

Happy gaming.

At first they might seem hard to execute perfectly but the fatalities are essentially the same as the ones in the other games. If you're good at playing fighting games then executing them shouldn't be that difficult after you get the hang of it.
