GLaDOS@home
April 15, 2011 - The Portal 2 Team
Well, the end is definitely near. Thanks to the efforts of a dedicated group of ingenious test subjects, we've located enough potatoes to generate the required power to start the GLaDOS reboot process. It's not too late to participate, though. The more CPU power dedicated to the process, the faster it will finish. What does that mean? From now until release, play any or all of the Potato Sack games to expedite the launch of Portal 2. Your efforts will be tracked on the official GLaDOS@home page.

The Potato Sack games are all great, and each one has also received a massive Portal-themed update. So why not get a taste of Portal 2 now while you help launch it?

There's also still time to collect all 36 potatoes. Anyone accomplishing this feat by the time Portal 2 launches will receive a very special, non-hat-based reward.

I don't have most of the games. And it is silly to play so many games just to get a game released which it eventually will anyway.

if it keeps it up at this pace then the game will just release at it's normal scheduled time. for shame.

Since you didn't post a question, I'm going to treat this like Jeapordy and respond in the form of a question!

What is the announcement Valve made April 15th about Portal 2?

And also since this isn't a question like someone pointed out, I would like to say I have about half the games there and I will play my part to unlock it earlier so fanboys and whiners can play it earlier.

Valve reps perhaps? Not a question but I will still like it because I'm psyched for Portal 2.

Thanks to this marketing gimmick, fans are being screwed AGAIN.

People who have all the potatoes and did not pre-order Portal 2 gets Valve Complete Pack AND Portal 2.

People who have all the potatoes and DID pre-order Portal 2 only gets Valve Complete Pack.

Nice one Valve. Really epic.

If you want Portal 2 early, "Play" the indie games. They never forced anyone to buy it. Hardcore fans who wanted Portal 2 played those 13 games and got it early. I don't think they'd feel cheated. Because they got the game early as promised. (14 hours early). Could've backed off at any moment if they wanted.

Come on! It's better than EA's Battlefield 3's epic FAILURE marketing campaign. "Receive 1 million likes on Facebook to watch the 12 minute footage". And all we got was all three episodes of Fault line combined.

Valve did a better job, a more creative job by promoting Indie developers as well as by marketing their game.

Helping to release Portal 2 earlier is not actually is not question its more asking for a favor from people. But playing all the games that are in the potato sack is not nesecery you just need to complete a specific objective in each game.
