Minecraft servers do not cost money IF the server is hosted on your own computer.

how ever, if you wanted the server to be big, you wound probably have to pay money to have it hosted. hosted means a company puts your server on thier very fast servers, but it would cost money.

how much money? well it depeds on the amount of slots on the server, the company itself, and the speed of the data transfare.

so in reality if you are hosting a small server on your own computer the cost would be exalty $0.00. but big servers = pay money.
