terraria if u die in hardcore do you lose all hp

in hardcore if you die you are dead, need to start a new character

In hardcore you lose all your HP and all your gear.

However, you don't lose your character you just respawn with the basic gear. (No armor and your copper pick, hatchet and your sword.)

Note: Its pointless making a hardcore character unless you want gravestones when you die.
