no, you will have to pay

from tera faq:

Like other MMORPG titles, TERA will use a monthly subscription model with a retail box.

It will be a pay-to-play game. If that doesn't work out that well, I bet that it would switch to a free-to-play payment model.

Disapointing news; I will not play untill it is F2P, Such a cool game and if it becomes F2P for sure they will be bombarded with millions of gamers defecting from their out-of-date games spending real money on available upgrades. The only way to go!
Hope they read this and realize their big mistake! Yours Truly-Gamer.
In my opinion, the F2P idea always brings children into the picture. No, I don't give a shit if you're a child and play a monthly subscription game, but when minecraft players begin downloading hardcore games such as TERA, it begins getting a little confusing.
I'm sorry, but I love Tera and a handful of other games you might possibly consider "hardcore" (which I am more or less decent or better in) and I still enjoy minecraft and play it quite frequently so I don't understand why being a minecraft player automatically makes you bad at your so called "hardcore" games, oh and for the record I am 18 and Idk if you realize this or not, but minecraft isn't f2p. I honestly only played Tera at my friends house though and didn't realize it costed till I checked it out at home. Which sucks because I never pay monthly for mmos waste of money in my opinion I hope it goes f2p one of my favorite new mmos, and I only played it for a few hours.
