A Shiny Pokemon is a special Pokemon with an alternative color palette. It's an extremely rare Pokemon to find. You have a 1/8192 chance of finding one in a wild Pokemon battle.

The only thing that makes them different from other Pokemon are their different colors. There are no stat enhancements whatsoever.

In all pokemon games, you have a chance of encountering a pokemon with a slight different color. There is a 1/2198 chance you'll find one. And the EV's of the pokemon's stats are a bit better.

A Shiny Pokémon (Japanese: 色違い differently colored or 光る shining) is a specific Pokémon with different coloration to what is usual for its species. It is one of the many differences that a Pokémon can have within its species.

Shiny Pokemon are exactly the same as regular Pokemon that you might find in the wild of any Pokemon game, but they are colored differently than the regular variation.

A shiny is a very valuable pokemon. Once it enters a battle, you will notice a few things about it. One, its color design sequence will be different. Example: Riolu is blue, Correct? Yes! A Shiny Riolu, however, would be a more green. Two, it will have shiny sparkles ribbon around it oncde it enters the battle. They will fade away in seconds, however.

These special pokemon very a small differ in its abilities and strength from its original version.

If you do catch a Shiny, (1/8192 chance you will find one!) trading it will be a hard choice for you may only encounter one in your whole game that did not enter in every game published by GameFreak Inc.. But, you could also use the opportunity to recieve a very powerful or rare or perhaps another Shiny pokemon in a trade!

You can also use the Masuda Method to enhance your chances of getting a Shiny pokemon from an egg!

The Masuda Method was approved by a nintendo Employee! The Masuda Method is when you take a Pokemon from your countries game and another pokemon from a game from japan or china or another country of the world and you put them in the Day Care  and recieve and Egg. This DOES NOT GUARANTEE SHINY POKEMON TO HATCH! Just makes the chances greater!
