or do each of us need to buy a copy of the game?

Each of you need to buy your own game because Blizzard is run by a bunch of jews. Loved Warcraft 3, loved Diablo 2, loved Starcraft. But this little bullshit they pulled just lost themselves another customer. $60 to play co-op only to realize you need two copies or else all you can do is play single player or with random noobs which is run on shitty servers. Blizzard, you crossed the line with one of my most anticipated games ever. Fuck blizzard, I can't wait until someone cracks your shit and I get it for free, bitches.
