Baisicly what you are looking at in medievil is more of an RPG and in sims 3 you take care of a family and do things like that

Medievil= RPG

Sims 3= doing nanny stuff

the sims three is a life simulation - you make a person, build a family, have a job, build a house, live life day to day. the sims medieval is more of a "game" in the sense that you go on quests and there are more objectives in it. the sims 3 doesn't really have any objections, you just play your sims throughout their lives
