can i play portal 2 on my laptop?

I play portal and portal 2on my laptop, but it only manages to run it because it's a new laptop with 4 GB of ram, and a fancy new graphics card.  I tried running portal 2 on my older laptop, a IBM Thinkpad that's a total dinosaur by computer standards, and it would crash the graphics card on the old laptop, causing it to give me the blue screen of death and restart.  I tried updating the card drivers, but to no avail.   Exactly the same results after updating the drivers. The error message regarding the need to update the card drivers was as far as I can tell just an SOS, calling in the (hopefully existent) calvary to help my old dinosaur.  The old thinkpad is completely incapable of running portal 2.  So the answer to your question depends on how old your laptop is.  If it's brand new or only one or two years old, then it'll most likely run it.  If it's about eight years old like my dinosaur of a Thinkpad (or even older than mine), I can almost guarantee you it won't be able to run portal 2
