More importantly, it shows that he was keeping his broken glasses, even though his wife had asked him to throw them away for the purpose of deception.Even after purchasing a new pair of glasses, he repaired his old pair and lay them on the crime scene to further portray the fact he was killed or missing. *Case Spoiler* So he could escape L.A. (and his wife) to be with his girlfriend in Seattle.
