terraria why does it take so long to connect to a server?

I don't know for sure but I think that it's generating all the world stuff.

To be more specific when you create a new world an set it on large it takes a while thats what it does on multiplayer I'm assuming not for sure.

And I have the same problem so your not alone lol but as long as it connects your fine.
