If you're on a console then you're out of luck. I'd reload the last save in which the npc was alive or just play on without them.

If you're on the PC, you're in luck. There are two commands that can revive a dead npc. Here are the steps for the first method.

1. hit the "~" (tilde) key on your keyboard. (Usually to the left of the "1" key on your keyboad.

2. Click the body of the dead npc. (Alternatly find the npcs base id and add it do the end of the console command after a space.)

3. Type "resurrect 1" and hit enter.

4. click the npc and type "enable" if needed.

5. press ~

The npc should now be "alive". Note that once an npc dies the game markes them as dead, and no console command can change that. This may or may not break certain quests. Your mileage will vary.

The second method: (Some have reported better success with this method.)

1. Press ~

2. type "player.placeatme (replace with npcs base id)"  and hit enter.

3. type "enable" to activate the npc if needed

4. press ~

Note, the same conditions apply to this method as the previous. Your best bet is to save often and load an old save if one of your favorite npcs die. If you are trying to revive a spouse you may have to remarry them.
