dragon age 2 forgot import can i apply it in middle of game?

I started dragon age 2 game and am at kirkwall already but i realize now i forgot to import my save file from dragon age origins is there a way to do that without losing my progress?

No, unfortunately. When you Customize Hawke, you are asked if you want to import save. If you do not select a save to import, then you pick between a few different generic backgrounds. So a history has already been established.
