Probably not, since it's the same account, same STEAMID.

no, you can't play portal 2 on Lan, even if you had 2 copies,

It's not officially supported right now, but people have found work arounds.  Hunt around the steam forums for more information.

Here is one thread to get you started:

You can, but it's morally iffy. This is not really a problem for me.

1. Enable the Console (In Portal 2)

2. Have both players type 'sv_lan 1' into the console

3. Host a match

4. Have the other person join by typing 'connect <local-ip>' into the console

All in all it should look like this:

~

sv_lan 1

connect 192.168.1.3

I just tried what BobDorian suggested and it did not work for me. Now, that is not to say it will not work as I may have done something wrong but we could not get it to work. So, I would have to say as of right now... no, you can not play portal 2 lan with one copy.

Officailly, no. But I'm sure there are some questionable work arounds out there.

Yes you can... Enable the developer's console in options - on one PC - open the console and type;

sv_lan 1

then type:

connect {other PC's local ip}

on the other computer type;

sv_lan 1

then type;

map mp_coop_start
