Probably not, since it's the same account, same STEAMID.

It's not officially supported right now, but people have found work arounds.  Hunt around the steam forums for more information.

You can, but it's morally iffy. This is not really a problem for me.

1. Enable the Console (In Portal 2)

2. Have both players type 'sv_lan 1' into the console

3. Host a match

4. Have the other person join by typing 'connect <local-ip>' into the console

All in all it should look like this:

sv_lan 1

connect 192.168.1.3

I just tried what BobDorian suggested and it did not work for me. Now, that is not to say it will not work as I may have done something wrong but we could not get it to work. So, I would have to say as of right now... no, you can not play portal 2 lan with one copy.

Yes you can... Enable the developer's console in options - on one PC - open the console and type;

sv_lan 1

then type:

connect {other PC's local ip}

on the other computer type;

sv_lan 1

then type;

map mp_coop_start
